Merry Christmas & Some Good News

I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and to share with you our news - I am having a baby! I am due August 14th so you can probably tell that I am not very far along - but we are too excited to keep it a secret and once we told our 2 daughters we knew we had to let everyone else know too.

Because of this, I will only be taking clients on a limited basis in the New Year. I will not be booking any weddings or portraits for July or August and will be limiting wedding bookings to only one a month.

I am currently updating and simplifying my price list as well as finishing up my main site - drop me an email at heather@senterstudios.com if you would like me to send my price list to you directly.

I am on holiday as of Friday December 22 to January 8 so I won't be answering the business phone - but I will be monitoring my email and will answer all email enquiries.

Finally, here is our Christmas card this year - I never did get around to having them printed so thank heavens for email!

Cassie & Drew back online for 2 weeks

The Music Man

I haven't posted in awhile - but there has been a good reason! I was directing a version of The Music Man for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Oshawa. It was a long haul and lots of work but the production opened on November 3rd and has been a success so that's all that matters.

I did manage to do a little photography - the photos of the cast! It was a lot of fun because I decided to do them 'old-style' and in costume as if they were actual photos of the people in the time period of the show which is 1912.

I don't know how authentic looking it really is, but here is Adrian Boerstra as Harold Hill.

About US Dollars

Hello all - I just wanted to let you know that www.senterstudios.com is working again - although the main website still isn't finished. Maybe now that the wedding season is over I will be able to finally get it finished!

Also, in case it isn't clear, the Pictology online ordering site charges your credit card in US dollars. I have undercharged on the shipping and packaging to make up for the few dollars discrepancy in currencies and the closeness of our dollars does indeed make it just a few dollars difference. My apologies for not making that clear on the ordering site, however.

Thanks again and I look forward to posting both some personal work and items from my upcoming portrait sittings.

Just to let you know that I haven't disappeared! If you have been trying to access the main website address you will have noticed that it is gone! Not to worry, my domain name is just being re-registered and since it fell over the long weekend it will take a few days to process.

Kim & Darrell's Wedding Now Online

Kim & Darrell's pictures can now be viewed by clicking here and then choosing "public events" and then "Kim & Darrell".

Kim & Darrell were married at Kim's parent's home in an open air ceremony and then the reception was held at the Peterborough Holiday Inn. The bride was elegant in a beautiful white dress with pale gold floor length sash and the groom and the rest of the party co-ordinated in shades of black and dark cream. It was a beautiful day all around.

Feel free to look as much as you like but please remember that this event will expire in two months. You may order any prints via the online ordering system using a credit card and our secure server. Or you may contact me directly at heather@senterstudios.com to arrange to order prints and pay by cash or cheque. Or you can just enjoy looking!

A note about viewing proofs: proofs are not finished prints. I do like to colour correct and crop almost all the pictures but some are left straight from camera. As well, I choose some prints to convert to soft focus, b&w, sepia, extra saturation etc as the image seems to demand. Any print can be converted to b&w or sepia, simply make that note in an email to me. All prints are individally edited for optimum colour and effect before printing.

Cassie & Drew Preview

Cassie and Drew were married at the Toronto LDS Temple and held their reception at the beautiful Viamede Resort near Burleigh Falls, about half way between Peterborough and Bancroft. The bride wore a beautiful champagne coloured dress created by Val Willard of Bowmanville - very elabourate and yet modern at the same time.

Michelle and Brandon Preview

Michelle and Brandon were married August 19th at the Palmyra Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints in Palmyra, New York. The day was drizzly and humid but the light was perfect for pictures and the Bride's hair stayed beautiful. And one of the nicest parts of this day was that the Bride is my niece and one of the flowergirls and one of the junior bridesmaids were my daughters!

Michelle and Brandon are going on to a second reception in the Groom's hometown of Moscow, Idaho. The gallery will be posted soon, but here are a couple of pics of an absolutely lovely couple.

I had a beautiful young lady visit the other day. I have known her since she was a little girl so it is quite frightening that she is completely grown up now. She needed some headshots for an upcoming casting call in Utah where she goes to school and some portraits for her Mom.

A brand new look for Senter Studios Photography

I'm taking advantage of the time that the main website (www.senterstudios.com) will be down by having all my logos and promo materials changed. Spring must be in the air because I just wanted to leave all that black and white behind and move on to bright green with a touch of pink. Maybe I will change my logo every few months to match the season!

Attack of the kindergarteners! And the pregnant lady has her baby.

Well, it wasn't planned, but I ended up photographing a group of Junior and Senior Kindergarteners on Friday. It was all completely on the fly and I had to move quickly but it was fun and I got some cute shots.

As well, Kayley, the beautiful pregnant lady from a couple of posts previous, had a baby girl. Here is a shot of the new addition and her proud parents.

I'm Back!

Well, I'm back from Las Vegas! I had an amazing time - almost a week of intensive training that was both inspiring and informative. I look forward to putting it all to use.

For those of you who are waiting for print orders, I apologize for the delay. I pride myself on fulfilling orders much quicker than the average wedding or portrait photographer, but the convention, Easter and a delayed supply shipment from the States have put me somewhat behind. I am working very hard to catch up everything so thank you for your patience.

Meanwhile, this week's most recent photo session was with the Lynch family, their little girl Fiona and the baby on the way.

Princesses and Kathy & Jube

So much to catch up on! I've been busy on the personal front as well as with photography. I have had some lovely photo shoots with the Haws, the Charlesworths and the McNaughts as well as a children's Glamour Shots Party. I am also busily preparing for my trip to the DWF Convention in Las Vegas starting this weekend. I will be learning all kinds of new techniques for both shooting and post-processing weddings and portrait sessions during 4 days of intensive photography training.

Paul and Aleena

Welcome to the weblog for Senter Studios Photography! I'm Heather Senter, the owner and photographer and this is my first foray into the world of blogging.

Most recent notable events are the photos from Paul and Aleena's Pre-Nuptial Reception. They are getting married in Utah but Paul's family wanted to host a reception for all the friends and family up here in Canada. The bride was very glamourous in a shimmery blue gown and while the dark reception hall was a challenging venue to shoot in, I really enjoyed the event.
